With our professional credentials, years of experience and up-to-date knowledge of changing rules governing trusts and trustees, we help ensure your trust assets are protected.
Testamentary Trusts
We administer testamentary trusts through a person’s will to provide ongoing financial support for loved ones and charities to protect the assets for children, grandchildren and future heirs.
Living Trusts/Inter Vivos Trusts
We administer living trusts that can be beneficial in several family situations. Examples include divorce, remarriage, providing financial support for family members with special needs or who have trouble managing their financial affairs. Also known as inter vivos trusts, they are established during a person’s lifetime and can continue operating after death. Unlike a will, which may become public document, living trusts are confidential. Probate and administration fees may also be reduced.
Trust Investments
We provide access to specialists who have in-depth expertise in the complexities of managing trust assets. As part of an organization where standards are high and regulations strict, our fiduciary role includes both an obligation and commitment to fully understand the unique requirements of each trust. Based on this understanding, an investment profile and an investment policy statement are created to clearly document the investment objectives of the trust. We will work with wisdom and diligence to achieve the balance, unique to each trust, between preserving capital, producing income and pursuing growth. Our approach to investment is one of discipline and prudence, always taking into account economic conditions, inflation, tax consequences, changing markets and legislation, and the needs of all the beneficiaries.
Acting as a trustee, we can provide:
- record keeping
- professional asset management
- annual tax filings
- payments of income and capital as specified in the trust document
- reporting to beneficiaries
- other discretionary decisions as required
