Making art accessible to all Canadians

The Tour of 15

In addition to the retrospective exhibition in March, RBC will also be presenting the 15 semi-finalists’ paintings in a touring exhibition with stops at prominent galleries in the cities of Edmonton, Toronto, Hamilton and St. John in 2004. Not only is this a wonderful opportunity for the artists involved to achieve gallery and public exposure from coast to coast, but it also gives Canadian art supporters the chance to witness what is happening in the art scene right across the country.

RBC Investments Canadian Painting Competition—
A Five-Year Retrospective

In March of 2004 RBC will be presenting a retrospective exhibition in Vancouver, which is both a celebration of past competitions and winners, as well as the launch of our sixth annual event. Five winning pieces from previous competitions—which are now part of our permanent contemporary art collection—will be on display, along with additional works by the winning artists and other entrants.

This wonderful event would not be possible without the support of the Elliott Louis Gallery, our host gallery. RBC would like to extend our gratitude to them for providing such a beautiful and welcoming environment for these emerging artists to showcase their work.
